ABOUT HSC
A registered non-profit sports organization bringing the Nepali community together through football, volleyball and a passion for healthy living — from our roots as Himalayan Spikes to a thriving club today.
FROM HIMALAYAN SPIKES TO HSC
The story of Himalayan Sports Club goes back to 2012, when a group of friends started playing volleyball together in Helsinki. The team grew very popular amongst the Nepalese community and became known as Himalayan Spikes.
Year after year the team participated in various volleyball tournaments, winning numerous trophies along the way. As more people were welcomed into the team the community grew stronger — and so did the ambition.
In February 2021, Himalayan Sports Club ry was officially established as a registered non-profit organization in Helsinki, Finland — expanding beyond volleyball to include football and welcoming members of all skill levels.
Today HSC organizes regular volleyball and football training sessions across the Helsinki metropolitan area. The club aims to provide sports platforms especially for the younger generation while promoting a healthy lifestyle and a greater sense of community among the Nepalese people in Finland.
